Minister’s Call to Action

Minister Dr. Vincent Biruta urged the graduates to apply their newly acquired skills professionally, maintaining high standards of discipline, respect for the law, and human rights principles.
He emphasized a shared commitment to enhancing security through professional training, regional cooperation, and international partnerships.

Regional Collaboration

The Deputy Inspector General of the Uganda Police Force, James Ocaya, called on the officers to effectively utilize the skills they gained during the three‑week joint SWAT training. The program aimed to strengthen the fight against terrorism and other high‑profile crimes. He underscored the vital need for both regional and international collaboration to foster security.

Training Details

The training, which took place from May 10 to May 28, 2026, brought together 73 police officers from seven EAPCCO member states: Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Liberia, Seychelles, and the Central African Republic (CAR).

On the evening of Thursday, May 28, 2026, the Inspector General of the Rwanda National Police, CG Felix Namuhoranye, hosted a dinner for guests and delegates. The event celebrated the Rwanda National Police’s 25th anniversary and marked the conclusion of the joint training exercise for security organs under the EAPCCO framework.
