The Prime Minister, Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva, represented President Paul Kagame at the official inauguration of a conference center in Libreville.
Dr. Nsengiyumva attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Gabon’s President, Clotaire Oligui Nguema, marking the formal opening of the facility.

Event Details and International Attendance
The inauguration took place on May 3, 2026, and brought together various leaders from Gabon and partner countries, highlighting its international importance.
Modern Facility to Host Continental Events
The conference center, designed by Avci Architects, is intended to host high level meetings and continental conferences across Africa.
It is expected to accommodate a wide range of international events and contribute significantly to the growth of conference-based tourism in Gabon.

Engagement with Rwandan Community in Gabon
During his visit to Libreville, Dr. Nsengiyumva also met with members of the Rwandan community living in Gabon.
He commended their unity and their continued efforts to represent Rwanda positively abroad. He further encouraged them to keep contributing to the development of both their host country and their homeland.
Rwanda and Gabon maintain ongoing cooperation and trade relations, particularly in air transport. The national carrier, RwandAir, operates flights to Libreville, the capital of Gabon. The two countries first signed cooperation agreements in 1976, which were later updated in 2010.
