Radisson Blu Hotel & Kigali Convention Centre has signed partnership agreements with three non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in Rwanda as part of its commitment to community development while celebrating its 10th anniversary in the country.
The agreements were signed in Kigali on July 13, 2026, during an event that marked a decade of the hotel’s operations in Rwanda. The anniversary celebrations began with the planting of 10 fruit trees within the hotel gardens, symbolizing 10 years of growth, sustainability, and positive impact, followed by the signing ceremony. More commemorative activities are scheduled throughout the week.
Three Organizations to Benefit from Annual Support
The partnership agreements were signed with Avega Agahozo, SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda, and Hope Shines Rwanda, with each organization receiving support tailored to its mission.
Under the agreement with SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda, the hotel will help improve children’s education by covering school fees, providing internet connectivity in schools, and supporting other educational needs.
Through its long-standing partnership with Avega Agahozo, the hotel will continue assisting widows of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi by contributing to healthcare services and housing support.
Hope Shines Rwanda will receive machinery and equipment to strengthen its youth empowerment and community development initiatives.
Hotel Reaffirms Commitment to Education and Youth Empowerment
The Acting General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel & Kigali Convention Centre, Uwase Nice, said the partnerships form part of the hotel’s broader corporate social responsibility strategy, which focuses on education, community health, and youth empowerment.
She noted that the hotel has been providing internship opportunities for students studying hospitality and tourism, enabling them to gain practical experience and develop professional skills needed in Rwanda’s growing hospitality industry.
“We want to see hospitality become a strong and sustainable profession because it aligns with the country’s development agenda. By 2028, Rwanda expects to generate US$224 million annually from Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE), contributing significantly to the country’s Gross Domestic Product. Achieving that goal requires not only world-class infrastructure but also a highly skilled workforce that understands the industry,” she said.
Avega Agahozo Praises Long-Standing Partnership
The Executive Secretary of Avega Agahozo, Kalisa Etienne, described Radisson Blu Hotel & Kigali Convention Centre as a reliable partner that provides assistance based on the organization’s priorities.
“What makes this partnership valuable is that they listen to our needs. Their support has greatly helped widows of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi cope with its lasting effects. They are not simply donors—they are true partners. They have assisted us in constructing and renovating homes for our members and in supporting elderly widows,” he said.
The partnership with Avega Agahozo began in 2016 and is renewed annually based on the organization’s evolving needs.
A Decade of Community Impact and Employment
Over the past 10 years, Radisson Blu Hotel & Kigali Convention Centre has consistently implemented community outreach and corporate social responsibility initiatives across Rwanda.
In addition to supporting social development projects, the hotel has contributed significantly to employment, providing opportunities to approximately 10,000 people through various engagements over the past decade while maintaining a permanent workforce of around 2,000 employees. The milestone reflects the hotel’s continued contribution to Rwanda’s hospitality sector and socio-economic development.
