The Rwanda Premier League (RPL) has released the fixtures for the 2026/27 BK Pro League season, with Rayon Sports set to host APR FC in the first edition of the highly anticipated derby. The match will be played on November 21 at Amahoro Stadium.
The fixtures were released on Monday, August 17, 2026, and show that, as was the case last season, a total of 306 matches will be played.
The matches will involve 18 teams, including 16 Rwandan clubs and two Sudanese sides, Al Merrikh and Al Hilal SC, which compete in the Rwandan league.
2026/27 Season to Begin in September
The opening match of the 2026/27 season is scheduled for Friday, September 4, 2026, at Kigali Pelé Stadium, where Kiyovu Sports will host Gorilla FC.
Huye Stadium was not used during the 2025/26 season because it was undergoing renovations. It has now been included in the new fixtures, although the first match scheduled there will instead be played at Kamena Stadium. Amagaju will host Etoile de l’Est on September 5.
The matches between APR FC and Musanze, Bugesera and Al Hilal SC, and Rayon Sports and Al Merrikh SC have been designated as postponed fixtures because some of the teams involved will be competing in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

Rayon Sports to Host APR FC in First Derby
The most anticipated fixture of the season will be the clash between Rayon Sports and APR FC. The two sides will meet on November 21, with Rayon Sports hosting APR FC on Matchday 9 at Amahoro Stadium.
No date has been set for the return fixture between the two teams, as is the case with all second-round matches starting from Matchday 17. However, the two sides will meet on Matchday 18, which will mark the start of the second round. That match will also be played at Amahoro Stadium, which will host only the two fixtures between the clubs.

Al Hilal SC, the overall champions of the Rwandan league, and APR FC, the champions among Rwandan clubs, will face each other on October 10 at Kigali Pelé Stadium.
On November 4, Al Hilal SC will face Rayon Sports at Kigali Pelé Stadium.
