Six Heads of State have arrived in Rwanda to attend the Africa CEO Forum 2026, a high-level gathering of business leaders and policymakers on the continent. This prestigious forum runs from May 14 to 15, 2026, and attracts numerous dignitaries, including presidents and government leaders. Many of these officials arrived in Kigali earlier this week to prepare for the summit’s intense schedule of dialogue and networking.
Among those already in Rwanda is President Mamadi Doumbouya of Guinea, who landed on May 12. On May 13, several other leaders arrived, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria, President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of Mauritania, President Daniel Chapo of Mozambique, and General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema of Gabon. Their arrival underscores the importance of the Africa CEO Forum 2026 as a premier platform for fostering continental growth and economic integration.

Bilateral talks during the Africa CEO Forum 2026
President Paul Kagame received several of these leaders at Village Urugwiro, where they held talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation. The Office of the President of Rwanda stated:
“President Kagame hosted his Nigerian counterpart, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for discussions on enhancing cooperation between the two countries in areas such as trade, energy, and military collaboration.”
President Kagame also hosted President Tinubu and his delegation at a state dinner to honor their visit. He later welcomed President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of Mauritania. Their talks focused on bilateral cooperation, African security, and navigating current global challenges. These meetings highlight the diplomatic significance of the Africa CEO Forum 2026 beyond the business sector.

Regional stability and the Africa CEO Forum 2026
Similarly, President Kagame met with President Daniel Chapo of Mozambique. Their discussions centered on critical issues such as security, trade, and regional investment. These high-level interactions demonstrate how Rwanda uses the Africa CEO Forum 2026 to solidify partnerships that drive both economic and social stability across Africa.
In addition to the forum participants, Rwanda also received Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, President of Togo’s Council of Ministers, on a one-day visit. President Kagame hosted him for talks highlighting the strong and growing ties between Rwanda and Togo.
Their conversation specifically addressed ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. The presence of so many influential leaders in Kigali confirms Rwanda’s role as a central hub for African diplomacy and business innovation.

President Kagame received H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, at Urugwiro Village. Their discussions focused on strengthening the fruitful partnership between Rwanda and Nigeria across key sectors including trade, energy and defense cooperation.
