The Basketball Africa League (BAL) continues with the semi-finals where RSSB Tigers of Rwanda will face Al Ahly of Egypt.
RSSB Tigers, Al Ahly Benghazi, Petro du Luanda and Al Ahly will begin their journey to the semi-finals of the BAL finals currently underway in Kigali. This is the first time that RSSB Tigers, representing Rwanda, has reached this stage, especially since it is also their first time participating in the BAL tournament after entering at the last minute to replace APR BBC, which withdrew.

Petro de Luanda Targets Historic Sixth Straight Semi-Fina l
Petro de Luanda of Angola, enters these semi-finals with the goal of being the team that has played in the semi-finals six times in a row, the most in this tournament.
Al Ahly Egypt Eliminated Ville de Daka r
Al Ahly of Egypt were the first to advance after defeating Ville de Dakar of Senegal 87-76 in the play-offs, earning a place in the semi-finals after losing the first leg 93-90, but Ville de Dakar could not hold on and Al Ahly continued on the same points gap.

RSSB Tigers Eliminated FUS Rabat
RSSB-Tigers, who are at home, were the second to enter the semi-finals after eliminating FUS Rabat of Morocco by 22 points. Even though RSSB had lost the second leg 99-98, this did not help FUs Rabat as RSSB Tigers had won the first leg 95-72.
Al Ahly Benghazi and Petro de Luanda Also Advance
Al Ahly Benghazi became the third team to reach the semi-finals after eliminating Club Africain of Tunisia in both the first and second legs, 88-87 in the first leg and 98-80 in the second leg, earning themselves a ticket to the semi-finals that begin on Wednesday.
Petro de Luanda secured a ticket to the semi-finals after eliminating Dar City of Tanzania, who were also participating for the first time, where Petro de Luanda overcame an eight-point deficit in the first leg of the quarter-finals to defeat Dar City 83-69 and reach the BAL semi-finals for the sixth time in a row. The Angolan team won the trophy in 2024 and lost in the final twice in 2022 and 2025.

Semi-Final Games Set for Wednesday and Thurs day
The semi-finals will be played on Wednesday and Thursday, with RSSB Tigers facing Al Ahly of Egypt at 19:00 and Petro de Luanda hosting Al Ahly of Libya on Thursday, leaving two teams to reach the final on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Except for RSSB Tigers, who reached the semi-finals for the first time, all the others have played semi-finals and all have played in the final.
