After being called up for the first time to the Rwanda national football team, Amavubi, Noam Fritz Emeran, who plays for FC Groningen in the Dutch top division, expressed his pride in representing his country. For the past three years, this 23 year old player had been wanted by Rwanda, but he had been hesitant to commit to playing for the national team.

Emeran Finally Accepts Amavubi Call Up
After being included among the 24 players selected for the two friendly matches that Amavubi will play against Comoros and Tanzania in June, Noam Emeran said he was proud to represent Rwanda, his country.
In a message posted on Instagram, he said: “I am very happy and deeply honored to join the Rwanda National Team. Representing my country is a great pride, and this is the beginning of a new chapter that we are going to write together, guided by love, hard work, and unity.”

Born Into a Football Family
The young player, who currently plays for FC Groningen in the Netherlands, was born in Paray-le-Monial, France, in 2002. He is the son of Fritz Emeran, a former Rwanda national team Amavubi player, and a Rwandan mother.

Early Football Career
In November 2019, Noam signed his first professional contract shortly after turning 17 years old. He began his football career in the youth ranks of FC Brussels in Belgium before moving to L’Entente Sannois Saint Gratien, a third-division club in France. He later joined Amiens, which was competing in the French top division at the time.

Manchester United Move and FC Groningen Transfer
Although he had not yet played for Amiens’ senior team, his talent quickly attracted attention from several major clubs, including Manchester United. Some football observers compared his playing style to Gaël Kakuta, Anthony Martial, and Neymar.
In 2019, he joined Manchester United’s academy before leaving in the summer of 2023 to sign for FC Groningen in the Netherlands.
