Rwandan actress Uwabeza Leocadie, widely known for her roles as Esther in Seburikoko and Nyiragitariro in Papa Sava, expressed deep emotion ahead of her trip to France for the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.On Friday, May 15, the actress departed for France to attend the globally recognized event.
It Was God’s Plan
Speaking to ISIMBI, Nyiragitariro said the opportunity to meet major figures in the international film industry was not simply because of her own ability, but part of God’s plan for her life.
She said: “I’m happy, and I thank God, because no human effort could make this happen. Even I was surprised. I’m not downplaying myself I’m a skilled actress—but beyond that, it was God who made it possible.”

Role in ‘Bene Mana’ Opens International Door
Esther is attending the festival thanks to her role in the film Bene Mana, which became the first film directed by a Rwandan to be selected and screened at the Cannes Film Festival, now in its 79th edition. The achievement marks a major milestone for Rwanda’s film industry on the international stage.
