MTN Rwanda has announced that, during the first six months of 2026, its revenue from services increased by 21.9% compared with the same period last year, reaching Rwf 167.5 billion. Meanwhile, profit after tax reached Rwf 17.2 billion.
The telecommunications company said the growth was mainly driven by an increase in the number of users of its services, including voice calls, internet and Mobile Money.
MTN Rwanda’s subscribers increased by 11.4% to 8.7 million, while regular internet users increased by 14.5% to 2.7 million. Mobile Money users also increased by 14.9% to 6.4 million.

Internet and Voice Services Drive Growth
Revenue from MTN Rwanda’s internet services increased by 14.3% to Rwf 26.7 billion. Internet usage also increased by 63.6%, driven by more customers adopting smartphones and the availability of affordable internet bundle promotions.
Revenue from voice services increased by 7.1%, mainly due to the growth in the number of subscribers and the recovery of interconnection rates that came into effect in August 2025.
MTN Rwanda Chief Executive Officer, Monzer Ali, said that although the company was pleased with its performance, the most important thing was the role these services play in the lives of Rwandans.
He said: “Every smartphone connected to a network, every entrepreneur paid through Mobile Money, and every family reached by our network represents another step towards a more connected, inclusive and technology enabled Rwanda.”
