On Monday, the Ministry of Local Government (MINALOC) held a meeting with coordinators of District Administrative Security Support Organ (DASSO) from all districts. The purpose was to review the performance of this security support organ and set strategies to improve its responsibilities.

Minister Dominique Habimana Praises Progress

Minister Dominique Habimana praised the progress DASSO has made in complementing other institutions in maintaining security, preventing crime, and assisting citizens. He emphasised that DASSO must strengthen its professionalism and improve its operations to better connect local authorities with the population.

Call for Professionalism
He reminded participants that DASSO should be a professional body, consistently fulfilling its duties while cooperating with other institutions to address challenges that threaten public safety and stability.

Key Areas of Focus
The meeting highlighted the need to continue building the capacity of DASSO staff through training and exercises, reinforcing collaboration between DASSO, local government leadership, and other security agencies, and putting more effort into crime prevention before it occurs.

The Minister concluded by urging DASSO coordinators to uphold the institution’s values: loyalty, professionalism, and integrity in daily work. He stated: “DASSO must be an institution that citizens trust and respect because of the quality services it provides in protecting their security.”
