RED Iyizire is one of Rwanda’s emerging musicians. The young singer has entered the music industry with the support of Derek Sano, who rose to prominence as a member of the music group Active. She has already released her debut EP, titled Iyizire.
In an interview with IGIHE, RED Iyizire confirmed that she is the daughter of Senderi Hit, although she refrained from sharing many details about her family.

RED Iyizire Confirms Her Family Background
She made the revelation when asked whether her musical talent might have been inherited from members of her family, after explaining that she had discovered her passion for singing at an early age.
she said: “Ever since I can remember, I have always loved singing. Many people in my family sing.” The young singer initially appeared reluctant to answer when the journalist asked whether she was indeed Senderi Hit’s daughter.
She explained that although there were well-known personalities in her family, she wanted to establish her own identity through her music.
she said: “There are certainly famous people in my family, but I am going to pursue music independently.” RED Iyizire expressed surprise that the journalist already knew she was Senderi Hit’s daughter. However, she avoided discussing her father in detail, making it clear that she wanted the interview to focus on her music rather than her family background.
Asked how she felt about entering the music industry while preparing to work in the same industry as her father, Senderi Hit, she replied: “I came here to talk about RED.”

Senderi Hit Keeps His Family Life Private
Senderi Hit is among Rwandan musicians who tend to keep their private lives out of the public eye. As a result, little information is publicly available about his family, including details about his children and their mothers.
RED Iyizire’s decision to focus on her music reflects her desire to build an identity of her own rather than rely on her father’s public profile.
Derek Sano Supports Her Musical Journey
Beyond music, RED Iyizire is a student at the University of Rwanda’s Nyarugenge campus, where she studies engineering.
Derek Sano explained that he decided to support RED Iyizire after observing her for six months and assessing her musical abilities.
Having recognised her potential, he committed himself to supporting her career, drawing on his experience in the music industry and his formal musical training.
