Rwanda welcomed 205 Rwandan returnees from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They entered the country through the La Corniche border post in Rubavu District on Thursday morning.
Local authorities received the group and helped them complete entry procedures. Officials also guided them through the first steps of their return process.

Why They Decided to Return
Many returnees said their friends encouraged them to come back home. Earlier returnees had already shared good news about life in Rwanda.
For example, they explained that people welcomed them warmly and supported them after their arrival. As a result, others felt confident and decided to return as well.

In addition, they explained how they started small businesses and improved their living conditions. Because of these stories, many people felt hopeful about their future in Rwanda.

Authorities helped the returnees immediately after their arrival. First, officials registered them and provided guidance. Next, they prepared them for the reintegration process.
Meanwhile, Rwanda continues to support returning citizens through various programs. These programs help them settle in communities, find work, and rebuild their lives.

Many returnees expressed happiness after arriving in Rwanda. They said they are ready to reunite with their families and start new lives.
