In Rwamagana District, more than 300 residents from Rubona Sector visited the Historical Corridor of the Country’s Liberation in Nyagatare District. The visit aimed to help citizens better understand Rwanda’s history. It also encouraged them to improve their work culture and strengthen their daily commitment.

Visiting Key Liberation Sites
During the visit, residents explored important sites linked to the liberation struggle, starting from the Rwanda–Uganda border. Today, authorities preserve the Historical Corridor as a historical site. As a result, it serves as a reminder of the courage and sacrifice shown by past generations.
Remembering October 1, 1990
Participants also visited the site where the first shots were fired on October 1, 1990, which marked the beginning of the liberation struggle. Through these visits, residents reflected on the past. At the same time, they discussed the future of the nation and its development path.
Lessons on Unity and Responsibility
Many participants said the visit strengthened their understanding of unity and reconciliation. In addition, they learned the value of patriotism, cooperation, and self-discipline. These lessons encouraged them to play an active role in national development.
Preserving History for the Future
This visit showed the importance of preserving and teaching Rwanda’s history. Therefore, leaders continue to encourage both youth and adults to learn from the past. By doing so, the courage of previous generations will continue to inspire progress and sustainable development.
