RAC, RBC and CHUB emerged as the standout teams, winning major trophies in the inter institutional sports tournament to mark International Labour Day.
Tournament Overview and Participation
The finals, played over the past weekend, brought together employees from various institutions competing in different sports categories based on staff size. In football, under the category of institutions with more than 100 employees (men’s division), RAC claimed the championship after a dominant 4–1 victory over CHUB in the final. WASAC secured third place by defeating RBC 3–0.

Football Results: Under 100 Employees Category
In the same sport but for institutions with fewer than 100 employees, DGIE lifted the trophy after beating RBC 3–0 in the final, while REG took third place with a narrow 1–0 win over NISR.
Volleyball Competitions and Winners
In volleyball, RAC continued their strong performance by winning the men’s title (institutions with over 100 employees), defeating MINICT 3–0 in the final. RRA finished third after overcoming CHUB 3–1. In the category for institutions with fewer than 100 employees (men), NISR won the title after edging RwandAir 3–2.

Women’s Volleyball Results
In women’s volleyball (institutions with fewer than 100 employees), RBC secured the championship with a convincing 3–0 victory against WASAC. Basketball competitions were equally competitive. In the men’s category for institutions with more than 100 employees, RRA won the title after defeating RAC 78–72, while RTDA claimed third place by beating WASAC 73–64.
In the category for fewer than 100 employees, NISR triumphed over DGIE 95–86, and MOD took third place after defeating RwandAir 73–70.
Women’s Basketball Results
In women’s basketball, CHUB won the title in the category of institutions with over 100 employees, beating RBC 72–47. Meanwhile, in the category for fewer than 100 employees, RBC claimed the championship with a decisive 78–10 victory over CHUB.
The tournament not only celebrated workers through sport but also strengthened teamwork, unity, and healthy competition among employees from different institutions.
