Agricultural and livestock products generated $15.58 million in revenue for Rwanda between August 31 and September 4, equivalent to nearly Frw 22 billion, according to the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB).
During the week, Rwanda exported 9,145 tonnes of agricultural and livestock products to international markets.

Coffee Leads Export Earnings
Coffee generated the highest revenue during the period, with 961 tonnes earning $6.67 million.
The performance further underscores coffee’s position as one of Rwanda’s key export products and a major source of foreign exchange.
Tea followed, generating $1.28 million after 419 tonnes were exported during the week.

Vegetables and Fruits Add to Export Revenue
Vegetables also contributed significantly to Rwanda’s export earnings. A total of 270 tonnes were exported, generating $991,055.
Meanwhile, Rwanda exported 364 tonnes of fruits, generating $454,980. The fruits were mainly sold in markets in the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands and other African countries.
Flowers Exported to European Markets
Rwanda also exported flowers to international markets during the period.
A total of 10 tonnes of flowers were exported to the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, generating $50,898 in revenue.
Animal Products Generate Over $425,000
Animal products also contributed to the earnings from Rwanda’s agricultural and livestock exports.
According to NAEB, 295 tonnes of animal products were exported, mainly to markets in Africa, generating $425,294.
Overall, the figures show the continued contribution of Rwanda’s agricultural and livestock products to the country’s export earnings, with coffee remaining the leading earner during the week.
