Women as Pillars of Strong and United Families
Women affiliated with the RPF Inkotanyi family in Mukarange Sector, Kayonza District, have highlighted the critical role they play in building safe, stable, and united families across Rwanda. They emphasized that women remain a strong pillar of the family and a key driver of national development.

Promoting Peaceful and Responsible Family Life
The women made these remarks during a meeting that brought them together to discuss their contribution to family development and the promotion of a peaceful society. They stressed that strengthening families is essential to sustaining peace and fostering long-term social harmony within communities.
Progress Attributed to Good Governance and Women’s Empowerment
Participants noted that Rwandan families have made significant progress in social welfare, crediting good governance and investments that improve citizens’ livelihoods. They particularly highlighted initiatives that empower women and involve them in decision-making processes that shape the future of their families.
Raising Children on Positive Values
The women also underlined the importance of raising children based on positive values such as patriotism, respect, hard work, and integrity. They described these principles as the foundation for building a better future and nurturing responsible citizens committed to national development.

Commitment to Community Development and Social Change
Women in Mukarange reaffirmed their commitment to fighting harmful behaviors that hinder family development, including domestic conflict, gender-based violence, alcohol abuse, and neglect of parental responsibilities. Through community outreach, training sessions, and awareness campaigns, they continue to support families in resolving conflicts early. They also highlighted development initiatives such as modern farming, improved livestock practices, savings schemes, and self-employment, which have helped many households reduce poverty and improve living standards.
At the close of the meeting, the women pledged to continue working closely with local authorities and the wider community to build safe families founded on sustainable development, peace, and security. They concluded by emphasizing that an empowered woman remains the backbone of a stable and prosperous family.
