Rwandan police officers serving under the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) have been awarded medals of recognition for their outstanding performance in restoring peace in the country.

The medals recognize their dedication, professionalism, and valuable contribution to peacekeeping operations.
Strong Contribution Since May 2025
The officers, including 65 women, were commended for their dedication and professionalism since the start of their deployment in May 2025.
During this period, they played a crucial role in maintaining security, protecting civilians, and supporting stability efforts in areas affected by conflict and insecurity.
Their presence has helped improve safety and strengthen confidence among communities living in vulnerable areas.
MINUSCA Chief Praises Rwandan Contingent
The medal award ceremony was officiated by the Head of MINUSCA, Valentine Rugwabiza, who praised the Rwandan contingent for their exceptional service.
She highlighted their discipline, resilience, and commitment, noting that their work had made a tangible difference in improving safety and building trust among local communities.
The recognition reflects the strong reputation Rwandan peacekeepers continue to earn in international missions.
Community Support and Peacebuilding Efforts
In addition to their core security duties, the Rwandan police officers have been actively involved in community engagement activities, including outreach programs aimed at strengthening relationships with residents and promoting peacebuilding initiatives.
