President Paul Kagame attended a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), where members reviewed key initiatives aimed at accelerating Rwanda’s economic development through increased private-sector activity.
The meeting was held at the RDB headquarters on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Discussions focused on RDB’s efforts to attract and facilitate investment, promote exports and tourism, and strengthen Rwanda’s competitiveness in international markets.
President Kagame Calls for Results and Accountability
During the meeting, President Kagame emphasized the importance of maintaining close attention to the implementation of initiatives designed to boost the country’s economy.
He called for a results oriented approach, greater accountability and continuous improvement in performance to ensure that RDB provides better services to businesses and investors.

RDB Board Leadership and Members
The RDB Board of Directors is chaired by Itzhak Fisher, while Evelyn Kamagaju serves as Vice Chairperson.
Other members of the Board include Alice Nkulikiyinka, Chief Executive Officer of Business Professionals Network (BPN) Rwanda; Ivan Kagame, who works in investment and finance; Liban Soleman Abdi; Dr Diane Karusisi, Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Kigali; Eric Kacou; and Kassahun Kebede.
The meeting was also attended by RDB Chief Executive Officer Jean Guy Afrika and his Deputy, Juliana Kangeli Muganza.

RDB’s Role in Rwanda’s Economy
RDB is responsible for a range of activities aimed at supporting Rwanda’s economic development. These include investment promotion, tourism development, export promotion and facilitating investors by providing services that enable them to establish and expand businesses in Rwanda.
The discussions with the Board come as Rwanda continues to focus on strengthening private-sector participation, attracting investment and expanding its presence in international markets.
