On December 13, training for members of the District Administrative Security Support Organ (DASSO) intake 423 was officially concluded. The training covered various topics, including the mandate, structure, and functioning of DASSO; DASSO values and code of conduct; the use of force and respect for human rights; the use of firearms; and other related courses.
Some of the DASSO officers who completed the training said they are committed to working together with their colleagues to provide better and faster services.
Ndagijimana Alphonse, a DASSO officer who will serve in Ngoma District, said:
“I am going to support local government leaders in delivering quality services, putting citizens at the center and avoiding unnecessary delays.”
Tuyisenge Alpha, who will serve in Musanze, also said:
“We learned about civic education and our duty to serve the country, especially as young people, and to protect the youth from drugs.”
The Minister of Local Government, Habimana Dominique, commended the DASSO officers who completed the training and urged them to be role models. He added:
“You who have completed this training, the knowledge you have gained here will help you carry out your responsibilities effectively. You are going to join colleagues who are already on duty; work together with them and with citizens to ensure security, while respecting the laws that govern your institution.”
The DASSO officers who completed the training had spent three months in training and came from the districts of Bugesera, Gakenke, Gatsibo, Gicumbi, Kamonyi, Kayonza, Muhanga, Musanze, Ngoma, Nyamagabe, Nyagatare, Rulindo, and Huye.
