APR FC produced a strong performance to defeat Etincelles FC 3–1 in the first leg of the 2026 Peace Cup match played at Stade Umuganda. The win marked an important response for APR FC after a recent league setback against the same opponent.

APR FC started the match with intensity and quickly took control. The breakthrough came in the 14th minute when Mugisha Gilbert scored the opening goal, giving APR a 1–0 lead going into halftime.

Second Half Action
In the second half, APR FC continued to press forward and doubled their lead in the 62nd minute through Djibril Ouattara.
Etincelles FC responded in the 67th minute with a goal from Ishimwe Djarudi, reducing the gap and briefly bringing tension back into the match.
However, Ouattara struck again just three minutes later, restoring APR FC’s two-goal advantage and sealing a confident 3–1 victory.
