On Monday, August 24, Ghana’s Vice President, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, arrived in Kigali to attend the inaugural Africa Mindset Reset Forum.
The event takes place in Kigali on August 25 and 26, 2026.
Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang is representing Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama at the forum, which aims to bring together leaders and other stakeholders involved in Africa’s development.
Focus on Emerging Leaders and Strategic Governance
The two day forum is held at the Kigali Convention Centre and has been organised by the African School of Governance (ASG), with participants expected from across Africa and beyond.
About 80% of the forum’s participants are young people and emerging leaders.
Among the prominent leaders expected to attend are former South African President Thabo Mbeki, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, and Ghana’s Vice President Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang.
The forum aims to explore how Africa can build strong institutions, develop the capacity to find solutions to its challenges, and implement programmes that deliver tangible results.

Key Agenda and Pan-African Dialogue
On the first day of the forum, Thabo Mbeki will deliver the keynote address.
On the second day, discussions will focus on how Africans can participate in the management of the continent’s natural resources and promote people-centred development programmes.
President Paul Kagame, one of the founders of the African School of Governance, will also participate in a panel discussion alongside Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and former Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn. The discussion will examine how the objectives of African unity can be translated into concrete action.
The organisers say the forum seeks to connect young African leaders, help them contribute to the continent’s development, and transform Pan-African ideas into concrete actions. To follow real-time coverage and event updates.
