Ambassador Maj. Gen. Joseph Nzabamwita presented to the President of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, the credentials authorizing him to represent Rwanda in that country as a non-resident Ambassador.
The ceremony took place in Yerevan, Armenia on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Call for Stronger Bilateral Relations
President Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that it is important for the relationship between Rwanda and Armenia to be further strengthened and to have concrete activities.
He said: “It is very important that we strengthen and further develop the relationship between our countries.”
Focus on Technology, AI and Innovation
President Khachaturyan emphasized the need to increase political dialogue between the two countries, and to seek opportunities to expand cooperation in various sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), advanced technology, and innovation.
Ambassador Maj Gen Joseph Nzabamwita thanked the President of Armenia for the way he was received, and also conveyed greetings from the President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame.
Prior Presentation to Foreign Affairs Officials
This ceremony took place after on August 9, 2026 Ambassador Nzabamwita had first presented these credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Mnatsakan Safaryan

Rwanda and Armenia continue to seek ways to further develop the relationship between the two countries, particularly in technology, innovation, political cooperation and others for the mutual benefit of both countries.
Ambassador Nzabamwita is based in Russia where he also represents Rwanda in that country, and is also Ambassador to Armenia, Belarus and Serbia.
