Kabgayi Diocese Strengthens Employment Drive and Promises More Jobs for Communities

Kabgayi Diocese has reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting national efforts aimed at creating jobs and improving the livelihoods of citizens.

Barthazar Ntivuguruzwa said the Diocese remains determined to work alongside the government in expanding employment opportunities and responding to challenges affecting families and communities.

Labour Day Celebration Honors Workers in Kabgayi

He made the remarks during celebrations for International Workers’ Day held at Hotel Saint-André Kabgayi, one of the Diocese’s institutions operating in hospitality and tourism in Muhanga. The event gathered employees from various institutions under the Diocese to recognize the importance of their work and appreciate their daily contribution.

Over One Thousand Employees Benefit from Diocese Institutions

Kabgayi Diocese currently provides employment to more than one thousand workers who travel daily from different parts of Muhanga.

These jobs come through a wide network of institutions and services, including Kabgayi District Hospital and its eye care branch, Hotel Saint-André Kabgayi, Kabgayi Printing Press, educational institutions, Institut Catholique de Kabgayi, Hotel Lucerna, Lumina I and II, Kabgayi Minor Seminary, Kabgayi Philosophicum Major Seminary, and several other service centers.

Job Creation Described as Real Action, Not Promises

Ntivuguruzwa emphasized that the Diocese’s contribution to employment is visible and practical, not simply words.

He added that continued cooperation with the government will help create more opportunities while improving the quality of services offered to the public.

Leaders Call for Innovation and Better Service

Also attending the event was Jacqueline Kayitare, who said Labour Day should inspire workers and institutions to improve service delivery, embrace innovation, and promote sustainable development. She stressed that the progress of the country depends on the efforts and commitment of every citizen.

Employee Welfare and Quality Service Prioritized

Prosper Niyonagira, Director of Hotel Saint André Kabgayi, said the Diocese’s employment mission also includes ensuring the well being of workers while maintaining high quality services for customers.

Workers Encouraged to Respect the Dignity of Labour

Eugene Dushimimana, Director of Assets for the Diocese, urged employees to follow the example of Saint Joseph and value the dignity of work.

He said employment gives people honor, purpose, and stability, adding that those who create jobs deserve appreciation because meaningful work remains vital for both personal growth and community development.

Barthazar Ntivuguruzwa has stated that the Diocese of Kabgayi will continue to support the government in creating new jobs and addressing challenges affecting people’s livelihoods
Also present at the event was Jacqueline Kayitare, who highlighted that Labour Day serves as an opportunity to improve service delivery, encourage innovation, and promote sustainable development. She stressed that every citizen’s contribution is essential to national progress
