Iran has warned it will carry out retaliatory attacks against targets linked to the United States in the Middle East. The warning follows a U.S. strike on a military facility on Kharg Island, a strategic site for Iran’s oil industry.

Iranian officials say the strike damaged a key part of the country’s economy. They also say Iran has the right to respond and defend its sovereignty.
Iran Issues Warning to UAE Residents
A spokesperson for the Iranian armed forces warned residents of the United Arab Emirates to stay away from airports, ports, and areas where American forces may be present.
The spokesperson said U.S. forces involved in the strike operated from locations inside the UAE: “Iran will defend its sovereignty,” the spokesperson said. “We will target the sites from which American missiles were launched. These include ports, cargo facilities, and places where U.S. troops are stationed.”
Missile and Drone Attack Reported
Iran’s Ministry of Defence said the country launched nine missiles and 33 drones toward the United Arab Emirates on March 14, 2026.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran also warned that any country attacking Iranian infrastructure will face an immediate response.
Iranian officials advised civilians to leave areas near major ports. These include Jebel Ali Port, Khalifa Port, and Fujairah Port. Officials also warned that branches of American banks in the region could become targets.
Strait of Hormuz Remains Open
Despite rising tensions, Iran said the Strait of Hormuz remains open for shipping.
However, Iranian officials stressed that Iran controls the vital waterway. The strait is one of the world’s most important energy routes. For example, Fujairah Port handles about one million barrels of oil each day. That equals about 1% of global oil trade.
