Furthermore, the speakers reminded students that young people play an important role in protecting Rwanda’s unity and peace.
Message to the Youth
During the event, the Minister of Youth and Arts, Jean Nepo Abdallah Utumatwishima, encouraged young people to take part in nation-building activities. He explained that the Ndi Umunyarwanda program has already helped many students in secondary schools and universities.
As a result, many young people now participate more in government development programs. They also promote unity and reconciliation in their communities.
Promoting National Values in Schools
Schools will organize debates, discussions and other learning activities through this program. These activities will help students reflect on Rwanda’s history and values. Moreover, they will encourage students to reject divisionism and discrimination.
At the same time, the program will help young people build a strong sense of responsibility toward their country.
Expanding the Initiative Across the Country
Finally, leaders plan to extend the program to more secondary schools across Rwanda. This expansion will give more students the chance to take part in Ndi Umunyarwanda discussions.
Therefore, the initiative aims to raise a generation that values unity, respects diversity and contributes to Rwanda’s long-term development.
