Visitors to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, encountered a 2.5-metre-tall sculpture depicting US President Donald Trump naked, created by Danish artist Jens Galschiøt as a form of political protest.
The artwork, titled The Orange Plague, shows Trump sitting on the back of a smaller person while holding a long stick. According to Galschiøt, the sculpture criticises what he sees as injustice and Trump’s political conduct. The artist said the sculpture is coated in 23-carat gold and is also known as King of Injustice.

Artist Uses Sculpture to Criticise Trump
A written statement displayed alongside the artwork explains its message, portraying the “King of Injustice” sitting on the back of a person struggling under a heavy burden. Galschiøt also criticised Trump’s approach to climate change, arguing that efforts to address the crisis are being undermined. The sculpture was installed in a space between two European Parliament buildings in Strasbourg and was expected to remain there until Thursday.
Danish Member of the European Parliament Per Clausen invited Galschiøt to exhibit the artwork. Clausen said he was not concerned about Trump’s possible reaction, arguing that artistic expression should be protected as part of freedom of expression.
Clausen said: “If someone is so offended that they cannot tolerate this sculpture being exhibited at the European Parliament, they have no place on the international stage.” Trump had not publicly commented on the sculpture at the time of reporting.
The artwork has previously been displayed in other European cities and at the United Nations’ COP30 climate conference in Belém, Brazil.
