Rwandan peacekeepers serving in the Central African Republic (CAR) have joined residents of Bria town and members of the Central African Armed Forces (FACA) in a community work activity, known as Umuganda, at Hidjama Primary School. The activity aimed to clean the school premises and provide students with a clean and conducive learning environment that promotes good health.
Local Leaders Join Community Work
The activity brought together several leaders, including the Governor of Haute-Kotto Prefecture, Thierry Évariste Binguinendji; Lt Col SOÏMONA Nestor, Commander of FACA forces in the Eastern Central Region; Col Dr Christian Mukwesi, Commanding Officer of the Rwandan Level Two Hospital; and Lt Col David Ngabonziza, Commanding Officer of Rwanda Battle Group VIII.
Other local leaders and residents also participated in the community work. Following the activity, the Governor of Haute-Kotto Prefecture thanked the Rwandan troops and the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) for cleaning the school and supporting the local community.

Residents Appreciate Rwandan Peacekeepers
Nemengalia Franck Gael, a parent whose child studies at Hidjama Primary School, thanked the Rwandan troops for joining residents in the activity.
He said their participation demonstrated partnership and the good relations they maintain with the local population. Lt Col David Ngabonziza also highlighted the importance of cooperation between security forces and residents. He emphasised that close collaboration with the people of Bria is essential because they host the Rwandan troops and are partners in maintaining peace and security.
