The 507th Brigade of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Ground Forces has successfully completed an advanced military training programme aimed at strengthening the operational readiness, knowledge, and professional skills of its personnel.
The five-month programme concluded on July 9, 2026, at the Gabiro Military Training Centre in Gatsibo District. It was designed to enhance soldiers’ tactical capabilities and prepare them to effectively carry out the mission of the Rwanda Defence Force.

Chief of Defence Staff Presides Over Graduation Ceremony
The closing ceremony was presided over by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Mubarakh Muganga, who represented the Commander-in-Chief of the Rwanda Defence Force, President Paul Kagame.
Addressing the graduates, Gen Muganga commended them for their dedication, discipline, and commitment throughout the training. He urged them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and continue striving for excellence in the execution of their duties.

Soldiers Urged to Uphold Professionalism and Resilience
Gen Muganga reminded the graduates of President Kagame’s longstanding message to members of the Rwanda Defence Force that military training is intended to prepare soldiers to endure difficult conditions and successfully accomplish demanding missions that require physical strength, mental resilience, and unwavering professionalism.
He emphasized that every soldier should always aim for outstanding performance by carrying out their responsibilities with discipline, innovation, integrity, and the effective use of available resources.

Instructors Recognized for Building a Professional Force
The Chief of Defence Staff also praised the leadership of the Gabiro Military Training Centre, particularly the instructors, for their tireless efforts in developing the knowledge, skills, and operational capabilities of RDF personnel.
He noted that their commitment continues to produce competent soldiers and capable leaders who are well prepared to serve the Rwanda Defence Force and contribute to the security and development of the nation.
