Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has urged the club’s fans to remain patient and avoid drawing conclusions from reports surrounding the Premier League’s legal case against the club.
Al Mubarak said that although a significant amount of information has been published about the case in recent days, Manchester City’s position remains unchanged. The club continues to maintain its confidence in proving its innocence.
In a letter to fans, Al Mubarak said he has been part of Manchester City for 18 years and understands the journey the club has taken. He said the club remains determined to defend its position as the legal process continues. “The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the Club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began”.

Al Mubarak Says Confidentiality Limits What He Can Reveal
Al Mubarak said there is information he would like to share with supporters to help them understand the club’s position, but the confidentiality requirements of the legal process prevent him from doing so. “There are so many things that I would like to be able to share with you to help you understand why we feel so confident in our position. But the strict confidentiality of the legal process and our determination to respect it means I cannot do that at the moment. Even this letter underwent several legal checks to make sure it complies”.
He urged fans to read Manchester City’s statement issued on September 25, 2026, as well as the statement released in February 2023, saying the club’s position remains the same. “While some people have been quick to reach their own conclusions, and there is so much noise swirling around us, nothing has changed. We have faced challenges together before and have prevailed. There remain many who want to undermine the momentum of our Club. We will not give them that opportunity”.

Manchester City Says Legal Process Remains Ongoing
In its September 25 statement, Manchester City said the Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements still to be completed and subject to strict confidentiality. The club said its position remains consistent with the statement it issued in February 2023.
The Premier League referred alleged breaches by Manchester City to an independent Commission in February 2023. The Premier League said at the time that proceedings before the Commission would be confidential and heard in private, with the Commission’s final award to be published on its website.
Manchester City said in its latest statement that it has respected due process for eight years, based on its confidence that the Premier League Board and Executive would act as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator.
In February 2023, when the Premier League announced the charges, Manchester City said it was surprised by the allegations, particularly given the extensive information and materials it had provided to the league.
The club also welcomed the review of the matter by an independent Commission, saying it expected the evidence supporting its position to be considered.

Chairman Calls for Continued Support
Al Mubarak urged Manchester City supporters to continue backing the club as the legal process continues. “I have been part of this Club for 18 years. I have had the privilege to stand with you in the Etihad, at Wembley, and in Istanbul. This Club matters to me, and you have shown and told me time and time again – how much Manchester City matters to you. This is why I am writing to you today”.
He also reminded supporters that the club has important matches ahead after the international break.
“We have some exciting moments to look forward to after this international break. We travel to Anfield in a fortnight, and then host Paris St Germain in the Champions League back at Etihad Stadium moments that give us an opportunity to celebrate the strength of the Manchester City family”.
Manchester City’s official fixture list confirms the club will face Liverpool at Anfield on October 11 before hosting Paris Saint Germain at the Etihad Stadium on October 14. “Thank you, as always, for your constant support. Khaldoon Al Mubarak”.
