This Thursday, August 6, 2026, the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Chief of Defence Staff, Gen MK Mubarakh, received a delegation of senior officers and faculty members from the Sri Lanka Defence Services Command and Staff College at the RDF Headquarters in Kimihurura.
The delegation is concluding a two-week study tour of Rwanda aimed at gaining insights into the country’s socio-economic transformation, the RDF’s evolution and transformation journey, its contribution to national development, and its role in promoting regional and international peace and security.
Addressing the delegation, Gen MK Mubarakh highlighted the longstanding friendship between Rwanda and Sri Lanka and expressed appreciation for the Sri Lanka Armed Forces’ valuable contribution to the professional development of the RDF through the training opportunities provided to RDF personnel at various Sri Lankan defence institutions.
He further emphasized the importance of such study visits, noting that they offer an excellent platform to strengthen mutual understanding, deepen professional ties, and explore new avenues for cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two defence forces.
