RDF Senior Officers Graduate from Qatar Defence Academy as two senior officers of the Rwanda Defence Force successfully completed advanced professional military education at the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies in Doha. The achievement highlights Rwanda’s continued investment in professional military development and international defence cooperation.
Two RDF Officers Complete Advanced Military Education
DOHA – The Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies has celebrated the graduation of several advanced military education programmes, with two senior officers from the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) among the graduates.
Lt Col Christian Mushengezi and Lt Col John Bosco Kamuhangire successfully completed a ten-month professional military education programme, graduating alongside participants from the 6th National Defence Course, the 12th Joint Command and Staff Course, and the Graduate Studies Programmes (Master’s and Doctorate), as well as the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.
Senior Qatari Leaders Preside Over Graduation Ceremony
The ceremony was held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and attended by HE Lieutenant General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Manaai, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces.
The event brought together senior officials from Qatar’s military and security institutions, representatives of government ministries, and officers from friendly and allied nations.
Academy Recognizes Academic Excellence and International Cooperation
The graduation ceremony featured recognition of outstanding graduates and a presentation highlighting the academy’s educational programmes and research activities.
In addition to advanced military training, participants completed Arabic language studies, strengthening their ability to participate effectively in international military cooperation and multinational operations.
Diplomatic representatives, ambassadors from partner countries, military attachés, and senior leaders of the Qatari Armed Forces attended the ceremony. The Rwanda Defence Force delegation was represented by Col. Bernard Niyomugabo, Rwanda’s Defence Attaché to Qatar.
Graduation Strengthens Rwanda–Qatar Defence Cooperation
The graduation of the two officers demonstrates the value of international military education in enhancing leadership, strategic planning, and defence cooperation.
The RDF Senior Officers Graduate from Qatar Defence Academy programme also reflects the growing partnership between Rwanda and Qatar in defence capacity building, while reinforcing the Joaan bin Jassim Academy’s role in preparing military professionals from across the region and beyond.
