More than 258,000 secondary school students across Rwanda have started the 2025/2026 national examinations, which run from July 15 to July 24, 2026.
Candidates Sitting the Exams
According to the National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA), a total of 258,255 candidates are taking the exams this year. This includes 149,533 Ordinary Level (O-Level) students and 108,722 Advanced Level (A-Level) students.
Exams Held Nationwide
The examinations are being conducted at 1,746 examination centers across the country, with NESA overseeing the process to ensure smooth administration.
Support for Students with Disabilities
Among the candidates are 879 students with disabilities. NESA has put in place specialized support and accommodations to ensure they can sit the examinations on an equal basis with other students.

Primary National Exams
Earlier, 277,452 Primary Six students also sat for their national examinations, including more than 900 students with disabilities. Authorities prepared adapted examination materials and trained teachers to provide the necessary support during the exams.
