Nigerian Afrobeats star Kizz Daniel has revealed that the death of his mother led him to take a break from music activities in 2026.
The singer disclosed this while responding to a fan on X who suggested that his recent absence from new music could be linked to work on a new album.
Kizz Daniel clarified that he stepped away from music because of his mother’s death, rather than because he was preparing an album.
he said: “I took a break because of my mum, not because of an album. She passed away this year, but I have to keep going for the rest of the family. Sorry I took so long to come back this year,”

The singer, whose real name is Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, did not disclose when his mother died or how long his break from music would last.
His comments shed light on the reason behind the slowdown in his musical activities this year, after some fans had speculated that he was focused on preparing a new album.
