Africa College of Theology (ACT), which operates under New Life Ministries, has awarded certificates to 297 students who completed theology and ministry studies, urging them to use the knowledge they acquired to help change negative mindsets in society.
The graduation ceremony was held at New Life Bible Church, the ACT headquarters in Kicukiro District, on August 14, 2026.
The graduates included both Rwandans and foreign nationals affiliated with different denominations and churches, including Restoration and ADEPR, as well as professionals working in various fields such as finance, law, education and others.

Graduates Urged to Challenge Negative Mindsets
The Senior Pastor of New Life Bible Church, Rev. Dr. Mugisha Charles, spoke about misconceptions among some Christians that lead them to make decisions that negatively affect their lives. He urged the graduates to help change such mindsets.
He said, “You may find someone refusing to take their child to hospital, saying that God will heal them. Or someone may spend the whole day reading the Bible without going to work. We also teach people that they should love their wives and many other things. Therefore, I urge you to go and transform the society in which you live by teaching the Word of God in a clear way that also helps people overcome poverty.”
The message was echoed by ACT President and Vice Chancellor, Rev. Prof. Nathan Chiroma, who told the graduates that although they had completed their studies, putting what they had learned into practice was only beginning. He urged them to work toward making the world a better place.
He said, “We taught them to be leaders who exist to serve those they lead. What we ask of them is to promote unity, participate in nation-building, and help members of the church remain strong and become capable, as well as supporting them in improving their economic well-being.”

Graduates Commit to Sharing Their Knowledge
The graduates expressed great excitement about reaching this milestone, saying the studies had changed their understanding of theology and everyday life. They said they were committed to sharing the knowledge and positive lessons they had gained with the people they lead.
Kubwimana Eric, one of the graduates, said the most important lesson he learned was servant leadership.
He said, “The first thing I learned is leadership that serves and empowers people. So I do not want this knowledge to remain with me alone as a leader. I also want to share it with ordinary Christians so that they understand that our purpose is to transform the lives of the people we serve.”
Nantumbwe Annet, a Ugandan national, said what she learned would transform the way she carries out her ministry.
She said, “This will change the way I teach and lead Christians, the way I teach my students, and the way I understand God. My personal relationship with God has also changed significantly because of the knowledge I gained here.”

ACT began operating in Rwanda in 2021, and this was the institution’s third graduation ceremony.
