The Rwanda national team, Amavubi, defeated Grenada 4-0 in the FIFA Series 2026. The match took place at Stade Amahoro in Kigali in front of President Paul Kagame. As a result, Rwanda secured a strong victory in Group A.

Strong Start Under New Coach
The game kicked off at 9:00 PM with both teams showing energy. However, Rwanda quickly took control of the match. This was the first game under new head coach Stephen Constantine, who was appointed in March. Therefore, the win marked a strong beginning for his tenure.
First Half Dominance
Amavubi introduced 11 new players in the squad, including brothers Joy-Lance Mickels and Leroy Jacques Mickels. The team showed confidence and teamwork from the start.
In added time of the first half, Leroy Jacques Mickels scored the opening goal after receiving a pass from Kwizera Jojea. Shortly after, Jojea Kwizera scored the second goal with an assist from Biramahire Abeddy. As a result, Rwanda went into halftime leading 2-0.

Second Half Seals Victory
In the second half, Rwanda maintained control of the game. Although they reduced attacking pressure, they remained effective.
Bizimana Djihad scored the third goal in the 67th minute. Later, substitute Hakim Sahabo added the fourth goal in the 82nd minute. Consequently, the match ended with a convincing 4-0 victory.

Coach Stephen Constantine made several substitutions during the match. New players came in and kept the team’s performance strong. This showed the depth and flexibility of the Amavubi squad.
Coach Constantine Reacts to Victory
After the match, Coach Stephen Constantine praised the team’s performance. However, he warned players not to relax. He said the win would lose value if they fail in the next match.
He encouraged the players to celebrate, but also to stay focused. In addition, he reminded them that discipline and teamwork are key to success. He noted that both qualities were clearly visible in this match.
Rwanda Advances to Next Match
With this win, Rwanda qualified for the final friendly match against Estonia. The game will take place on Monday. Therefore, Amavubi will aim to continue their strong form.
