The Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources, Dr. Uwituze Solange, urged religious leaders to work closely with the government to address family challenges in Rwanda. She said this cooperation will help strengthen national development and improve people’s lives.

Prayer Gathering in Bugesera
On Sunday, March 29, 2026, she made these remarks during a prayer gathering in Bugesera District. The event brought together leaders from different sectors, including churches and religious organizations. In addition, local authorities, citizens, and other stakeholders attended the gathering.
Role of Religious Institutions
During her speech, Dr. Uwituze Solange explained that religious institutions play a key role in building a stable and developed society. She also noted that they help promote positive values among citizens. She stated:
“Religious institutions are a strong pillar in promoting positive values among citizens. We urge you to continue working hand in hand with the government in educating the public, addressing family-related challenges, and building a united and developed nation.”
Need to Address Family Challenges
Furthermore, she highlighted that issues such as family conflicts, poor child upbringing, and extreme poverty require joint efforts. Because of this, all sectors must work together to find lasting solutions. She emphasized that religious leaders are close to the community and can help bring real change.
She added: “When we work together, we can achieve a lot. Your role is crucial in helping citizens change mindsets and actively participate in development activities.”
Leaders Commit to Action
Meanwhile, religious leaders who attended the event appreciated the existing cooperation with the government. They also pledged to strengthen their efforts in teaching values such as unity, patriotism, and hard work.
At the same time, the Mayor of Bugesera District said such initiatives improve collaboration across sectors. As a result, this helps speed up development in the district and the country.
The event ended with a joint prayer for Bugesera District and the country. Participants prayed for unity, peace, and sustainable development. Overall, this initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen cooperation between government institutions and religious organizations in building a strong and resilient Rwandan society.
