Rwanda’s Minister of Sports, Nelly Mukazayire, visited RSSB Tigers BBC to encourage the team ahead of the Basketball Africa League Season 6 (BAL6).
Her visit came just days before the team’s departure for South Africa, where they will compete in the group stages. She urged players to stay disciplined, focused, and united as they represent Rwanda on the continental stage.
Government Reaffirms Strong Backing
During her address, Minister Mukazayire assured the team of full government support. She highlighted the role of sports in promoting Rwanda’s image internationally and strengthening national pride.
She reminded the players that their performance will reflect not only their talent but also the country’s growing presence in African basketball.
Tigers Ready to Represent Rwanda with Pride
Motivated by the visit, players and technical staff of RSSB Tigers BBC expressed confidence and determination.
They pledged to compete with resilience and teamwork, aiming to deliver strong results and bring pride to the nation. The team acknowledged the responsibility of representing Rwanda at such a high level.
Kalahari Conference Challenge in South Africa
The Tigers will begin their BAL6 campaign in the Kalahari Conference, set to take place in South Africa from March 27 to April 5, 2026.
The competition will feature some of Africa’s top basketball clubs, providing a tough test for the Rwandan side as they aim to advance to the next stage.
Kigali Set to Host BAL6 Finals
In another major boost, Kigali will host the BAL6 finals from May 22 to May 31, 2026.
This gives RSSB Tigers BBC extra motivation to perform well in the early rounds and return home to compete for the title in front of their fans.
