The Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College has launched the RDF International Relations Security Course, a new program aimed at strengthening strategic education for senior military officers.
The course marks an important step in expanding professional military training in Rwanda. It focuses on improving leadership skills and deepening officers’ understanding of international security and diplomacy.

A New Programme for Senior Military Officers
The RDF International Relations Security Course forms part of a new series of high-level training programs designed for senior officers. The program aims to equip participants with knowledge about modern security challenges and international cooperation.
Through the training, officers will study global security trends, diplomatic engagement, and the role of military leaders in maintaining peace and stability.
Partnership with UNITAR
The college developed the program in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research. The collaboration brings international expertise into Rwanda’s military education system.
Through this partnership, participants will benefit from the experience of global experts in diplomacy, peacebuilding, and security cooperation.

Addressing Global Security Challenges
The course examines key security challenges affecting both Africa and the wider international community. Participants will analyse regional conflicts, international relations, and global peacekeeping operations.
