On February 1, President Paul Kagame attended the National Prayer Breakfast at the Kigali Convention Centre. The event brought together national leaders, religious leaders from different churches, business representatives, and citizens from across the country. Together, they prayed for peace, unity, and national development.

Messages Call for Unity and Action
During the prayers, speakers urged Rwandans to stay united and work together. They warned against division and promoted values that support nation-building. In addition, they reminded participants that prayer must go hand in hand with action. Therefore, citizens should show integrity, honesty, and love for the country in daily life.
President Kagame Emphasizes Shared Responsibility
In his address, President Kagame said every Rwandan shares responsibility for the country’s future. Moreover, he cautioned against changing the nation based on personal interests. He noted that collective effort and sacrifice built Rwanda. As a result, he called on citizens to work hard and protect national values.
Religious Leaders Stress Values and Youth Guidance
Meanwhile, religious leaders highlighted the need to teach strong values to the youth. They focused on humanity, justice, forgiveness, and mutual respect. Furthermore, they said a strong nation grows when people cooperate and reject discrimination.
Prayers Offered for Leaders and the Nation
Finally, participants prayed for national leaders to lead with wisdom and commitment. Speaking on behalf of attendees, Ndayisenga Felicien thanked the country’s leadership for promoting unity and development. Consequently, participants renewed their commitment to protect national achievements and build a better future.
