Mayor ugrged them to assess how both day and night patrols are conducted and to identify areas that require improvement. Leaders emphasized the importance of regular patrols in preventing crime and protecting residents and their property.
Participants also reviewed challenges affecting patrol operations and discussed practical measures to strengthen security at the community level.

Addressing the officers, Mayor Rangira Bruno stressed that security is the foundation of development. He urged DASSO officers to carry out their duties with dedication, professionalism, and integrity.
“DASSO plays a key role in maintaining public security. Patrols must be regular and effective. Officers must avoid misconduct such as alcohol abuse and fully understand their responsibilities,” he said.
The mayor further called on officers to work closely with other security agencies and remain attentive to community concerns in order to build public trust.
National DASSO Leadership Reinforces Core Responsibilities
At the national level, CSP Christian Safari, the Executive Secretary of DASSO, also addressed the meeting. He reminded officers that their primary responsibility is to protect citizens’ lives and property.
“Your duty is to ensure public safety. You must serve with professionalism, discipline, cleanliness, and good conduct. You should also report security threats in time for prompt action,” CSP Safari stated.
He emphasized the importance of respecting the law, maintaining transparency, and upholding leadership values.
Participants welcomed the guidance and said the discussions strengthened their understanding of their roles. They pledged to improve daily performance, strengthen patrol activities, and work closely with communities and other security agencies to ensure peace and stability in Kirehe District.
