Key Roads Targeted for Rehabilitation
The community work focused on roads linking Murundi and Mwiri to the Mucucu road. These roads pass through Kayonza, Nyawera, Kahi, and Giperefe Kirimbari. Heavy rains had damaged the roads and made transport difficult. As a result, residents and leaders worked together to repair them and improve access.
Prime Minister Commends Citizen Participation
During the activity, Prime Minister Dr. Nsengiyumva praised residents for their strong participation. He noted that community work plays a key role in Rwanda’s development. In addition, it helps citizens solve problems that affect their daily lives.
“When citizens come together and work as one, development is achieved faster and benefits everyone,” he said.

Improved Roads to Boost Agriculture and Livelihoods
The improved roads will mainly benefit farmers and livestock keepers. They will transport crops and animal products more easily. Moreover, access to the Kahi milk collection center, known as Nyamiyaga, will improve. This change will reduce delays, lower transport costs, and cut post-harvest losses.
Local Leaders Call for Continued Community Engagement
Residents welcomed the improved roads and said they will ease travel and support their livelihoods. Meanwhile, Kayonza District leaders thanked the Office of the Prime Minister for joining the community work. They also encouraged citizens to continue taking part in community service and other development activities.
