As part of efforts to address overcrowding in schools and promote quality education, new classrooms were officially inaugurated in Nyagatare District. The facilities were built in partnership with World Vision Rwanda at Nkoma Primary School, located in Nyamirama Cell, Karangazi Sector.
The newly constructed facilities include different structures designed to help children study in a conducive environment. They consist of three (3) classrooms with student desks, two (2) girls’ rooms, 26 toilets, sports and cultural uniforms, shoes, teaching and learning materials, as well as three (3) tablets provided for teachers.

To promote hygiene and sanitation, a 10m³ water tank was built, together with water purification machines for safe drinking water and a water supply system. The entire project cost 164,892,054 Rwandan francs.
On behalf of World Vision Rwanda, Bizumuremyi Jean Bosco, in charge of child protection and education, emphasized that such projects are proof of the organization’s commitment to sustainable development for children and their families.

He said:
“Every child deserves to study in a proper environment, in classrooms free from overcrowding, with the learning materials they need. This is the direction we continue to strengthen through partnerships with government institutions and parents.”
Meanwhile, the Nyagatare District Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs, Murekatete Juliet, expressed gratitude to World Vision Rwanda for the outstanding projects they have delivered to the people of the district.

She said:
“I thank our partners World Vision Rwanda for the remarkable projects they have provided to the people of Nyagatare District, especially in the field of education. All this was done for the benefit of our children, to ensure they study in a safe and supportive environment.”
