On Tuesday, Rwamagana District hosted a graduation ceremony for 110 young people who completed a short-term vocational training program. The initiative aimed to equip youth with practical skills that support self-employment and improve their daily lives.

Partnerships Supporting Youth Skills Development
The program was organized through a strong partnership between Local Women Development (LWD), AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), and the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA). These organizations actively promote youth and women empowerment. In addition, they support self-reliance by offering vocational skills and mentorship opportunities.
Focus on Vulnerable Youth and Livelihood Creation
Most graduates came from two LWD centers located in Kicukiro and Rwamagana districts. The program, which started in 2025, targeted young people facing unemployment and limited job skills. As a result, it aimed to provide them with basic vocational knowledge for sustainable livelihoods.

Hands-On Training and Personal Growth
Over six months, participants received hands-on training in different vocational skills. At the same time, the program emphasized confidence building, teamwork, and future planning. Therefore, beneficiaries gained the ability to identify opportunities and create their own sources of income.

During the ceremony, graduates thanked the partner organizations for the support they received. Many said the training changed their mindset and improved their confidence. Consequently, several graduates plan to start small businesses or join income-generating activities related to their skills.
Meanwhile, representatives from the partner organizations reaffirmed their commitment to supporting vulnerable youth. They encouraged graduates to keep learning and working together to strengthen their skills.
